Crisis Averted

I almost forgot to mention that while we were thoroughly enjoying Montepulciano, we happened upon a little shop chock full of pocket knives. After a considerable amount of deliberation (and leaving to go walk around for a bit and consider), Cooper finally settled on a “My First Swiss Army Knife”, replete with a chain to attach the knife to himself and a lanyard. The blade is rounded at the end so that there will hopefully be no cut digits, a small saw for chopping down trees :-), a bottle and can opener, a toothpick and a pair of tweezers. So life is good for our 8 year old boy and he is fast becoming a whittler!
